MWM protests in Karachi against killing of Soleimani

KARACHI: Condemning the killing of General Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC's) Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, Hashd al-Shaabi, in a US air strike at the Baghdad International Airport, the Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen organised a protest on Friday, saying that the attack was an "act of international terrorism".

Talking to the protesters gathered outside Jamia Masjid Noor Iman, the MWM leader, Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi, said that the killing of those who defended the Muslims' sacred places in Iraq and fought against the terrorists shows that the US supports the terrorists. He said that Muslim rulers should severe its diplomatic relations with the US and shut down its embassies in their countries.

MWM's central secretary general Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, in a statement, said that the whole Muslim world is grieving and in anger over the killing of Soleimani and Al-Mohandes by the US in Iraq. "Two Muslim commanders were protecting the integrity of prophets, Ahl al-Bayt, Sahaba and the lives of Muslim people in Syria and Iraq," he said.

He called upon all the Muslim countries including Pakistan to cut off their diplomatic ties with the tyrant US and shut down its embassies in their states. He said that people of Pakistan are deeply saddened over the incident and offer their condolences to

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, families of the martyrs and the oppressed Muslims across the world and expressed their extreme hate towards the US. He said that the MWM on the tragic incident pledges to defeat American designs against Muslims around the world adding that they will continue to fight against enemies of Islam till our last drop of blood.
