Police arrested a Chinese national for beating up a traffic policeman who stopped him from parking a vehicle in a no-parking zone outside a superstore near Qayyumabad on Wednesday.
An FIR was registered under sections 353, 186 and 337A(I) at the Korangi Industrial Area Police Station on behalf of police constable Amir, who is posted to the Zaman Town traffic police section of the Korangi district.
According to the complainant, he was thrashed by the foreigner after he asked the driver of the vehicle not to park his vehicle in the no-parking area near Imtiaz Supermarket.
A crowd of people gathered on the spot and intervened. They helped the traffic policeman in catching the foreigner and handing him over to police, who arrived there a short while later after getting information through police helpline 15. The Chinese man was shifted to the Korangi Industrial Area Police Station.
According to Zaman Town traffic police section in-charge Moin Ahmed Shaikh, the Chinese national runs his a private store in the Defence area, and police have obtained CCTV footage of the incident, which confirmed the incident.
