SBP employs cueists, forms table tennis teams
KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has employed four top-level cueists of the country, including the current national champion Muhammad Bilal, ‘The News’ learnt on Wednesday.
Besides, the central bank has established its table tennis teams by giving jobs to four boys and four girls, sources said. Bilal, a world class snooker player hailing from Mandi Bahauddin, has represented Pakistan in various international championships and has won laurels for the country.
Bilal became the inaugural winner of the 1st Asian Confederation of Billiards and Snooker (ACBC) Asian Tour 10 – Red 2018 in Doha. Bilal compiled the heighest break of 139 in IBSF World Snooker Championship 2018 held at at Yangoon.
Bilal won $12,000 ACBC Asian Tour 10 Red Championship 2018 at QBSF Snooker Academy in Doha Qatar. He was the runner up of the inaugural South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Snooker Championship 2019 in Dhaka.
The SBP employed the cueists keeping in view the fact that Pakistan often dominated international events in this sport. A SBP official said such talented players should be free of financial worries so that they could concentrate on their performance.
The official said the central bank also had plans to establish its hockey team this year but due to some reasons it could not be done.
