Police in action after special girl kidnapped, raped
LAHORE:Gujjarpura police have registered a case against unidentified suspects who had kidnapped and raped a 14-year-old special girl on Monday. Dolphin police had recovered the girl, who was tied up with ropes. She was kidnapped by two people in a rickshaw. She was sent to hospital for treatment. Special teams have been formed to arrest the kidnappers.
cylinder blast: Four people received burns when a cylinder exploded in a hut in Qila Gujjar Singh police limits on Tuesday.
Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to hospital. A couple and two kids received burns. The condition of the woman was stated to be critical. The victims were cooking food when the cylinder exploded.
arrested: Deputy Inspector General of Police Lahore Rai Babar Saeed has pledged that Lahore Police Operations Wing will make an all-out effort including preemptive and preventive to control crime.
Meanwhile, Lahore police have released a report on Operations Wing performance for eradication of crime in year 2019. According to the figures, Lahore police arrested 46,157 accused. They arrested 2,090 members of 871 robber gangs and recovered more than Rs155m from them. Another 2267 cases were traced during investigations from the criminals. Police recovered 65 Kalashnikovs, 260 rifles, 203 guns, 4,108 pistols, five carbines, 85 daggers and thousands of bullets. Police arrested 7,253 drug pushers and recovered 82kg heroin, 2326kg Charas, 6.6kg ice, 177kg opium and 19,8791 litre liquor.
IG: Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastagir directed action against elements involved in hooliganism during New Year celebrations and details of action from all districts should be shared with Central Police Office.
He further directed senior officers to personally review security arrangements at sensitive places and roads ensuring the smooth flow of traffic. He also directed effective monitoring through safe city cameras and patrolling through Dolphin, PERU, so that law-abiding citizens may be saved from inconvenience. The IG issued the directions through a directive to all RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs including the CCPO Lahore. On the directions of the IG, the letter issued from AIG Operations directed all officers to ensure action against one-wheeling, firing and hooliganism without delay while effective implementation of sound System Act 2015 must also be ensured, the letter further says.
