Three bikers killed in Gujranwala accident

GUJRANWALA: Three persons were killed in an accident near Kamoki on Saturday. Reportedly, Habib, Dilawar and Nawaz, all residents of Mandiala Warraich, were on their way by a motorcycle when a dumper hit them on GT Road. As a result, all three motorcyclists died on the spot.

FINE IMPOSED ON MARRIAGE HALLS OWNERS: The district administration on Saturday imposed fine on various marriage hall owners on the charge of violating one-dish law.

The AC Sadar conducted raids at various marriage halls and found violation of one-dish law. The AC imposed Rs 60,000 fine on the violators while arrested two persons and got registered FIRs against them. The AC also seized a huge quantity of food and sent it for the Shelter Homes and DHQ Hospital patients.

STATE LAND RETRIEVED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has retrieved 257 Kanal state land from land grabbers at Mandi Bahauddin district.

ACE Regional Director Zohaib Mushtaq told that a citizen got registered complaint at PM Citizen Portal App about the illegal occupation on the state land.

After an inquiry, it was revealed that some land grabbers had illegal occupied 257 Kanal state land worth millions of rupee for the last many years. To it, the ACE officials conducted an operation and got vacated the state land from the illegal occupiers.

PASSING-OUT PARADE OF 25 JAIL WARDENS: The passing-out parade of 25 jail wardens was held at the Central Jail here on Saturday.

Punjab Prisons DIG Malik Mubashar Ahmed Khan was the chief guest. Addressing the ceremony, the DIG said that many reforms had been made to improve the performance of the jail staff.

He said that we were struggling to create a better atmosphere for the prisoners at the jails so that they could be able to change their lives and after releasing from the jails. He also congratulated the head wardens for passing the departmental examination and got promotion from constable to head constable.
