ACE retrieves 81-kanal land in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Saturday retrieved 81 kanal state land from squatters in Toba Tek Singh district.

According to ACE spokesman, under the supervision of ACE Regional Director Imran Raza Abbas, a team conducted operation against land squatters in Mauza Plant-B Pirmahal and retrieved 41 kanal state land.

Meanwhile, the ACE team also retrieved 40 kanal state land from illegal occupiers in Chak 637/GB Pirmahal, district Toba Tek Singh.

Three booked over marriage act violation: Police registered cases against three people over violating one-dish and marriage act.City Assistant Commissioner (AC) Zoha Shakir inspected marriage halls, restaurants and hotels and found marriage act and one-dish act violation.

On the report of the AC, the police registered a case against marquee owner Abbas and manager Babar. The AC also found violation of marriage act at a wedding ceremony of Aqeel in Sheerazi Park People’s Colony and police registered a case against Aqeel. 2,000 kites recovered: Jhang Bazaar police Saturday arrested three shopkeepers from Jhang Road and recovered 2,000 kites from their possession.

On a tip-off, police raided shops at Saifabad Chowk, Jhang Road and seized more than 2,000 kites and other paraphernalia from three shopkeepers.

Power shutdown notice: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has issued shutdown programme for Sunday due to necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines.

According to the schedule, power supply from Crescent Board, Millat Road, Millat Town, Dry Port, Sandal and Mughal Pura feeders emanating from 132-KV Chiniot Road grid station will remain suspended from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm while Muzaffar Shaheed feeder originating from 132-KV Thikriwala grid station will observe shutdown from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Sunday (December 29).

Similarly, electricity supply from Barnala feeder emanating from 132-KV Chak Jhumra grid station will also suspended from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on December 29, 2019.

52 beggars caught: Some 52 beggars were caught from various parts of the city during an operation against beggary.

According to social welfare department sources, Social Welfare Officer Rehana Yasmeen along with her team conducted operation against professional beggars in different areas of the city and caught 52 beggars and sent them to Old-Age Home, Darul Aman and Child Protection & Welfare Bureau.

FIVE held over LPG decanting: Police Saturday arrested five shopkeepers for decanting liquefied petroleum gas illegally in various parts of the city.

The police along with teams of civil defence department raided LPG refilling points and arrested Faisal from Metropol Chowk Gulberg, Abdul Ghaffar from Madina Town, Nawaz from Chak 208/RB, Umar and Muhammad Ameer from Chak 208/RB when they were decanting gas illegally.

FIVE booked for stealing oil from Parco line: Sandal Bar police registered a case against five people on charges of stealing oil from Parco pipeline.

On the report of Admin Officer Parco Khalid Ali, Sandal Bar police registered cases against Shahid, Faqeer Hussain and three others for stealing oil from Parco pipeline near Chak 58/JB. Six held for rash driving: Police Saturday arrested six people from various parts of the district for rash driving during the last 24 hours.

Police detained Sardar Wali, Ajab Noor, Nawaz, Shabbir Hussain, Ahmad and Niaz Ahmed. FIVE booked over child labour: Police Saturday booked owners of five workshops on the charges of violating the child labour act and registered cases against them.

On the report of Labour Inspector Amir Ali, police found minor children working at the workshops of Hajji Imtiaz Ali, Liaquat Ali, Dilawar Ali, Ramzan and Khalid on Jhang Road, Ayub Colony and other areas. The police registered cases against the workshop owners.

68 cops transferred : City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Ahmad Chaudhry transferred 68 police officials including Sub Inspectors (SIs), Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs), Head Constables and Constables. According to police, the CPO transferred six sub-inspectors, 10 assistant sub inspectors, five head constables and 47 constables.
