ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has taken notice of ‘China cutting’ (illegal construction) in front and around the Mazar-i-Quaid in violation of the building by-laws of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and allegedly by the Cosmopolitan Society, Karachi, in connivance with the SBCA.

The NAB chairman on the basis of the complaint, directed Karachi DG NAB to prove the matter, especially the role of Mazar-i-Quaid's management committee and why it did not inform the Sindh Building Control Authority about the alleged "China cutting", in front and the surroundings of the Quaid-i-Azam’s mausoleum.

The DG NAB was also directed to inquire as to what action the Sindh Building Control Authority had taken against the alleged illegal constructions. “Whether the authority had taken any action against its responsible officers and officials in accordance with the law,” the NAB chairman directed Karachi DG NAB.
