Stolen childhood
December 27, 2019
Child marriage has long been a major problem in our society. It has robbed countless young Pakistanis of their childhood, mostly young girls between 12 and 15 years of age, rendering them the victims of a vicious practice that thrusts the burdens of adulthood on the delicate shoulders of young children.
It is estimated that 5000 children get married in a day. Which means that each day, 5000 children are effectively deprived of education, freedom and safety. It is our collective duty to talk against this problem and prevent parents from inculcating their children into a practice that is both unlawful and detrimental to their well-being.
