Lahore police to revive mounted patrol

LAHORE :The CCPO said that Lahore police would revive mounted patrol soon after the reconstruction of stables.

He was addressing a ceremony at CCPO office for decorating newly promoted police officials of the Mounted Force. Two assistant sub-inspectors, four head constables and six constables were promoted. He announced that a police riding school would be established for better training of mounted force.

Meanwhile, the CCPO approved a refresher course for the riot force in Turkey. He paid visit to district police lines where he was briefed about functioning and equipment of the force. He directed that PC-I of new headquarters should be prepared.

accidents: Twelve persons were killed and 870 injured in road accidents across the Punjab province during the last 24 hours. The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to 817 accidents in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Some 509 seriously injured persons were shifted to hospitals, whereas 361 injured were treated on the spot by rescue medical teams.

arrested: Sabzazar Investigation police arrested two robbers and recovered illicit weapons from them.

The arrested robbers were identified as Ali Raza and Yasar. The accused had shot at and wounded a citizen Muhammad Rafique who expired after 17 days in hospital. The accused also shot at and wounded a shopkeeper Haneef Sindhu.

Meanwhile, Mochi Gate Investigation police arrested two persons involved in the cases of pickpocketing and theft.

The arrested culprits were identified as Mushtaq and Amanat Ali. Police also recovered eight cell phones and other valuables from their possession.

found dead: A 25-year-old youth was found dead in Miani Sahab graveyard on Tuesday. He was identified as Ali Hassan. Police suspected that the youth might have died of excessive use of drugs.
