LAHORE: Multan City U-16 cricket team defeated visiting Pak Shama Cricket team Doha, Qatar by 32 runs in exhibition cricket match at Nawan Shehr cricket ground, Multan on Monday.
DG Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh was the chief guest at the exhibition cricket match and was warmly received upon reaching Nawan Shehr cricket ground Multan. Multan City U-16 cricket team scored 222 runs for the loss of four wickets while playing first. Arfat Minhas scored 65, Uzair Mumtaz 35 and Adeeb Yaseen contributed 31 runs. Hussain and Maalik got two and one wicket respectively for Pak Shama Cricket team Doha, Qatar.
In reply, Pak Shama Cricket team Doha, Qatar managed only 190 runs. Hussain, Akmal Mir and Bismillah Khan were their prominent scorers with 60, 50 and 22 runs respectively. Bilal Khan captured three wickets while Sikander Khan and M Bilal took two wickets each for Multan City U-16 cricket team.
Hussain and Uzair Mumtaz were adjudged best batsman and best all-rounder of the match. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh distributed prizes among the players and match officials.
Aulakh, on this occasion said that discipline is being brought at grassroots level sports to bring maximum number of young players in grounds across the province. “The tour of Pak Shama Cricket team Doha, Qatar is highly encouraging development and it will help a lot in promoting sports among young generation”.Meanwhile, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh distributed kits and jaguars among the players of Chief Minister Cricket Academy in Dera Ghazi Khan.
