LAHORE
The Jamaat Islami observed its 75th foundation day on Wednesday, with a number of celebrations in all the big cities reaffirming the objective of its founding fathers to bring an Islamic revolution in the country to enforce the laws prescribed by the Quran and Sunnah.
Addressing a foundation day function at Mansoorah on Wednesday, JI Naib Ameer Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said the party was persistently pursuing the objectives set by the group of revolutionary leadership led by Maulana Syed Abul Aala Maudoodi. He said the JI had always strove for reconciling the two Muslim groups having differences, removing all the social and other evils by promoting Islamic values and promoting unity among all Muslim groups.
He warned that the country was suffering from all sorts of evils like lawlessness, poverty, corruption, unemployment and backwardness stressing that the root cause of all those evils lay in the absence of Islamic system in the society. He said the JI was struggling for enforcement of true Islamic system, which would solve all the social, democratic and political problems in the country. He stressed that the JI was not a hereditary party or family limited leadership adding that anyone could rose to be the leader and office-bearer on the basis of his piety, honesty and sincerity with the cause of Islam and Pakistan. He said the JI had always provided honest and clean leadership to the country, which had never had any stigma of corruption or any other social evil.
The ceremony was also addressed by Maulana Abdul Maalik, Mian Maqsood Ahmad, Azhar Iqbal Hasan, Zikrullah Mujahid, Umair Khan, Malik Shahid Aslam, Khlaeeq Ahmad Butt, Malik Munir and others.
