LANDIKOTAL: The security forces recovered and defused an explosive device planted near the house of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) leader in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency on Tuesday, official sources said. They said a local tribesman informed the security forces about a suspicious device planted near the main entrance to the house of Zarnoor Afridi, who is JI’s deputy chief for Fata, in Sadukhel area. They said the security forces and personnel of the bomb disposal unit (BDU) officials rushed to the site and defused the device. The sources said that unidentified militants had planted the explosives to target the JI leader.
