Islamabad:Over one thousand students from over 20 universities participated in the third youth gathering organised by Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan (AKFP) under its volunteers programme.
Punjab Governor, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was chief guest on the occasion. The AKFP president, Muhammad Abdus Shakoor, secretary general, Dr. Mushtaq Mangat, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) secretary general, Amirul Azeem, educationist, . Dr. Sumaira Rehman, Amjad Islam Amjad, Zubair Mansoori and others were also present.
Discussion was held, speeches were delivered in different sessions on ‘Welfare activities and the light of teachings of Islam', ' Constructive use of Social Media', 'Traffic Rules and Road Safety' etc.
Dr. Intezar Hussain was given Nematullah Khan Award for services to prevent blindness. Punjab Governor, Muhammad Sarwar who was highly impressed with organising healthy and constructive activity for youth, also lauded AKFP's social activities.
