LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated a Cricket Stadium, Chief Minister Punjab Cricket Academy and e-Employment Centre in Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday.
Secretary Sports and Secretary Punjab Ehsan Bhutta and Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister about the ongoing sports projects in Dera Ghazi Khan Division. Secretary Sports Punjab Ehsan Bhutta informed Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar that Dera Ghazi Khan Cricket Stadium incurred Rs 82 million and the scheme has been prepared by Sports Board Punjab itself with a special guidance of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar. He said it is the Punjab Government policy, the youth of the backward areas will also be provided with equal facilities as of the developed cities. “These innovative facilities will provide youth a platform in develop their skills and improve their performance.
It is the initiative of Punjab Government which believes in establishing such centre at down trodden areas to provide best possible facilities to the youth like the big cities,” said the secretary. Talented young players will be unearthed by providing modern facilities at the grass root level, he added. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh while briefing the Chief Minister informed a hockey stadium is also being constructed in Dera Ghazi Khan, which will also have Astro Turf, construction of Sports Complex in Tehsil Tonsa is also underway.
