Two die, 16 hurt in Malakand accident

BATKHELA: Two passengers were killed and 16 others sustained injuries when a van plunged into a ravine in Palai area in Malakand district on Thursday, hospital sources said. A Rawalpindi-bound van (LED-7771) from Lower Dir plunged into the ravine while negotiating a sharp turn on the Swat Expressway in Palai area.
Two persons identified as Sepoy Khalil Ahmed belonging to Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan and Irfanullah hailing from Samar Bagh died on the spot and 16 others were wounded. The dead and injured were pulled out of the van and shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Batkhela.
