LAHORE: Immortals A defeated Immortals B by a thin margin of 1-0 in the final of 6-a-side boys Hockey Mela at PU hockey ground New Campus on Thursday. The girls title went to B.S 7th Sports which trounced B.S 1st Morning by 2-0.
National hockey team Chief Selector Olympian Manzoor Junior, Olympian Kh Junaid, head coach Pakistan hockey team were the guests of honour at closing ceremony. PU Hockey Mela was held under the auspices of Punjab University Sports Sciences and Physical Education (SSPE) Department.
Chairman SSPE Dr Zafar Iqbal Butt also announced the launching of Hockey Academy in SSPE Department for all the students of Punjab University.
According to detail, overall, 24 hockey teams - 18 boys and 6 girls - participated in the 2-day event.
