KARACHI: Sri Lanka leg-spinner Lasith Embuldeniya was delighted to grab the key wicket of Pakistan’s stylish batsman Babar Azam on the first day of their second Test here at the National Stadium on Thursday.
“I noticed that he (Babar) was coming out of the crease, so I invited him to play outside his crease and got him stumped when he missed the ball,” Embuldeniya said, while addressing a press conference after the day’s play.
Embuldeniya, who took 4-71, said that he focused on his line and length and took advantage of the turn on the wicket.
“I started enjoying my bowling once I gained control of my line and length and forced the batsmen to make mistakes,” he said.
To a question, Embuldeniya said that tips from Sri Lanka’s new head coach Mickey Arthur also helped him bowl well.
