PESHAWAR: Around 30 faculty members of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar, completed five-day training on Active Citizens Programme conducted by the British Council.
Four facilitators from the British Council helped the faculty of the UET to have know how of the programme, which will be conducted at the undergraduate level from this year.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the British Council launched the programme for students of all degree-awarding institutions. Dean and Acting Vice Chancellor UET, Prof Dr Noor Muhammad, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Active Citizens is a program run by the British Council in partnership with civil society organizations and educational institutions to encourage groups of youth to engage in social responsibility by developing and delivering sustainable projects on urgent themes such as poverty, literacy, democracy and climate change.
Active Citizens Programme will also soon be part of syllabus of Undergraduate students at the UET Peshawar.
