ABBOTTABAD: The official of Health Department and the district administration have sealed two medical stores and registered a case against two others during the ongoing campaign against the spurious drug in the district.
Official sources said the officials had launched a crackdown against the unregistered medical stores in Havelian and Abbottabad on the directives of the provincial government.
The health officials raided dozens of medical stores and sealed Saeed Pharmacy and Al-Bahadur Medical Store in Havelian upon recovery of unregistered Indian drugs, the sources said, adding, a case was also lodged against Al Yousaf Medical store and Khan Clinic for not having a qualified person and valid licence to sell drugs. The officials also served notices on five medical stores over hygiene standards.
Syed Aqib Ali Shah, the drug inspector, said that according to law pharmacist must be present in the pharmacies for checking the prescriptions and it is the duty of the owners of medical stores to maintain cleanliness. He added that a strict action would be taken against those not abiding by the law.
