A man has been arrested on a police complaint filed against him over his alleged involvement in attempting to rape three minor girls in the city’s Bin Qasim Town.
Police officials said that FIR No. 302/19 was registered at the Bin Qasim police station against Muhammad Akram, a resident of the town’s Pipri locality. According to the complainant, his daughter and her two friends were in the street when their neighbour, namely Akram, took them to his house and attempted to rape them. The father said he heard the girls’ screams coming out of Akram’s residence, adding that some neighbours also gathered at the scene and broke down the door of the man’s house to rescue the girls.
The girls complained that Akram had asked them to come to his house and attempted to rape them. Police then arrested the suspect and launched an investigation into the case. IGP Dr Syed Kaleem Imam took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the District Malir police chief, who oversees the jurisdiction in which Pipri falls.
