Islamabad “: After the launch of the ‘Durust Daam’ mobile app for the home delivery of essential commodities, the Islamabad district administration is going to carry out another initiative, ‘Organic Kitchen Garden.’

According to an official, the administration will convert 10 feet by 10 feet minimum roof or garden into a farm on nominal charges enabling people to grow vegetables on own premises.

"Our teams will set up the farm and will look after them on our own for three months after which the owners can manage it on their own or allow our teams to continue," he said. The official said all that would be done on nominal charges. "The input of Rs25,000 can yield a profit of Rs50,000 to Rs100,000 in just four months depending on the vegetables being grown," he said. The official said anyone willing to contribute to the project could approach the administration at dc@icta.gov.pk.
