NOWSHERA: Two persons were killed in separate incidents in the district, police said on Monday. They said that a truck crushed a conductor Sohail to death in Nowshera Cantonment. In the second incident, the police said, that a car (ABM-544) ran over one Said Wali while crossing a road near Amangarh Bus Stop, leaving him dead on the spot. The driver managed to escape. The police lodged cases and started investigation. Two militants held in Hangu: The security forces arrested two militants during an operation in central parts of Orakzai Agency, official sources said on Monday. The sources said that the security forces and political administration launched an operation against militants in Chapar Mishti area in Orakzai Agency. The hideouts of a militant commander Khadi Khan was destroyed in the operation and two militants identified as Ihsanullah and Salim were arrested. Terror bid foiled in Mardan: The police foiled a terror bid and recovered explosive device planted to a bridge at Mardan-Swabi road in the limits of Shahbaz Garhi Police Station on Monday. Source said that militants had planted 15kg explosive device to a bridge at Mohib Bypass on Mardan-Swabi road. Taking action on a tip-off, officials of the Bomb Disposal Unit rushed to the spot and defused the device. The Counter Terrorism Department Mardan registered a case and started investigation. Checkpost inaugurated in Malakand Agency: The administration on Monday announced rebuilding checkposts in Malakand Agency. Talking to reporters after inauguration of Malakand Khas checkpost, senior official of Malakand Levies Gul Roz Khan said that a security checkpost would be established on the Badwan-Batkhela bridge. He said all the checkposts would be rebuild in Malakand Agency to beef up security.
