DERA GHAZI KHAN: Six people, including five members of a family, died while three others sustained injuries when a bus hit a motorcycle-rickshaw on Jampur Road near a grid station on Sunday.
According to Gadai police, a bus was coming to the city from Karachi when it collided with a motorcycle-rickshaw due to overspeeding. As a result, Munawar of Kot Chutta, his wife Zareena Bibi, daughters Farwa, and Sana and son Mehtab were killed on the spot while Shakeela, Malik Akbar, Shakeel and Farzana Mai were injured. The injured people were shifted to the DHQ Hospital where Shakeela also died.
Meanwhile, a large number of people gathered at the accident site and beat the bus driver. The mob also burnt the bus. On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. Later, the driver was handed over to police. A case has been registered.

A van (LES/3168) was coming to the city from Mianwali when it collided with a trailer in a bid to overtake it. As a result, five people were killed on the spot. On information, Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the Talagang THQ Hospital. Police are investigating.
