LAHORE: Preparations are under way for trial run of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) on its entire route on Dec 10 with great fanfare, though Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has excused himself from attending the inauguration of the trial run.
The CM has been called by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on the same date. The two leaders would discus provincial administrative and political affairs during Monday’s meeting. The CM would also attend a ceremony to be held for launching of an app for filing complaints against corruption. However, the Punjab transport minister would attend the ceremony.
Also, Pakistan Muslim League-N workers have made plans to celebrate the trial run along the train route at various points.
CM Buzdar has also convened the provincial cabinet meeting at 11am on Dec 10. According to sources, the CM would not be able to attend the ceremony due to cabinet meeting and official engagements. Two days ago, Buzdar had announced his participation in the trial run ceremony.
Also, the PML-N activists have given a call for celebrating the trial run on Tuesday. The party sources said the project was launched by the PML-N government and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had no right to open it.
Last episode of the drama will be aired on Saturday night at 8 pm
