HARIPUR: The authorities on Thursday sealed six medical stores for selling drugs without having the proper licence, official sources said.
Drug Inspector Syed Aqib Ali Shah said under instructions from provincial drug regulatory authorities, he conducted raids on different medical stores of Ghazi tehsil. During the verification of record, the drug inspector found that the owners of all the six medical stores were selling drugs in violation of rules and without having license. The drug inspector said that the medical store owners had obtained licenses for only selling medicines but not the drugs for which they were required to have a separate license. The drug inspector along with SHO Ghazi and officials of Health Care Commission sealed the medical stores that were also offering treatment facilities to the patients despite the fact they did have qualified doctors. The medical stores sealed included Pervez Medical Store, Sher Ali Medical Store, Inayat Medical Store, Bahadur Medical Store, Samina Medical Store and Attiq Medical Store.
