KARACHI: OISSA table tennis team clinched Independence Day table tennis tournament 2015 team event title after beating Azharcon Engineering by 3-1 in the final here at Iftikhar Syed Sports Academy.
Thirty-two players from District East participated in this tournament. The events in the tournament included men’s singles, men’s doubles and team event.
OISSA team, which won the team event’s title, consisted of Aijaz Malik, M Faisal, Dr Amjad Ansari and Farrukh Kamal. Farrukh Kamal won men’s singles title after beating Aijaz Malik by 3-0 sets in the summit clash.
Meanwhile, Farrukh Kamal and Aijaz Malik won men’s doubles title after they defeated Dr Haroon and M Faisal by 3-1 score in the event’s climax.
