Mardan Super League to bring talent to the fore: official

MARDAN: The Mardan Super League (MSL) will promote cricket in the district and will also bring talented players to the limelight.

Mardan has contributed several players to Pakistan cricket team.

These views were expressed by Regional Sports Officer (RSO) Mir Bashar Khan, Abdul Matin Khan, Tufail Khan, Bakhat Mohammad Khan, former district Nazim Himayatullah Mayar and others while addressing the logo lunching ceremony of MSL at the Services Club in Sheikh Maltoon Town.

Famous singer Irfan Kamal presented the MSL title song at the launching ceremony. Players, traders and journalists attended the logo lunching ceremony.

Tufail Khan, a member of the organizing committee, gave a detailed briefing about the MSL event.He added that like other ceremonies, the Mardan League would be started from its grand launching ceremony, to be held on December 31 on New Year night and the date would be announced in the grand function.

Tufail Khan added that six teams including Hoti Mardan Zalmi, Takhtbhai Baatoran, Katlang Pukhtoon, Rustam Nangyali, Toru Bahadaran and Bagh-e-Aram Baryali would participate in the MSL event.He added that 25 kits were reserved as an award for the six teams, adding that lunch and tea would be provided to a minimum of 40 officials and guests on a daily basis.Tufail Khan added that man of the match and best performer of the match in losing team would be awarded Rs20,000 cash prize while at the end of the league, Rs500,000 cash will be given to the winning team, 3 bikes for man of the series, batting, bowling and fielding and gifts for the crowds and families daily.

He added that food stalls would be available in the special area. He added that the process of the auction for the team would be held on December 9 at Services Club, Sheikh Maltoon Town in the evening. Senior Minister Mohammad Atif Khan and certain officials could not attend the function due to other engagements.
