displeasure over the arrival of model Ayyan Ali at the public administration department. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser has instructed the department chairman and KU’s student advisor to take serious disciplinary action against the students who invited Ayyan Ali. It was an extremely irresponsible and immature act of those students which has hurt the prestige of KU by inviting her without any formal permission.”
It further stated: “Both the students have been issued show-cause notices and would face disciplinary action. Since, the students didn’t bother to take the formal permission from the department chairman, strict disciplinary action has become unavoidable and imperative to restore discipline of the varsity.”
Meanwhile, the department chairman Prof Dr Shabib-ul-Hasan while clarifying his position when talking to The News, said he had gotten to know that Ayyan Ali was a guest only when the function began.
“I was sitting in my room when I heard that a couple of students had invited the model and by that time she was already on her way to the university,” he said. “I called Rangers and security to try and stop her but it could not happen and she made it to the department. It was between 1pm and 1:30pm when this plan came to my knowledge and but my efforts to stop her remained fruitless.”
According to the varsity officials, the model arrived in a luxury VIGO with tinted glasses and a two-vehicle escort carrying heavily-armed guards. “By the time the KU management came to know about it was too late to stop her,” admitted one of the security officials.
On the other hand, KU’s campus advisor for security affairs, Dr Mohammad Zubair, said the whole administration had been unaware of the students’ plan since they had kept it under wraps so they could surprise the chairman of their department and other students.
However, another KU official said the management had received information that three luxury vehicles were trying to enter from the Maskan Gate but the security personnel deployed there did not stop them because one of the passengers inside the front vehicle told the guards that the visitors were going to attend a function at the department of public administration and had obtained prior permission.
