A presidential system

The local bodies elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the most recent example to confirm our bloody democratic culture. The situation has reached such a point where people think it a miracle if they return home alive after casting their votes. No wonder that the majority of people stay away from the voting process.
Rights activists and progressive forces in our country are pressing for compulsory voting rights to women. It is to be seen how many heads of families and women themselves are prepared to risk their lives to vote for those who never speak for women’s rights. What is the remedy then? A presidential form of system?
