Weeding-out continues in National Junior Hockey
LAHORE: Another eight matches were played on day two of the 36th National Junior Hockey Championship being played here at National Hockey Stadium Lahore. SSGC, KP (A), Punjab (A), MPCL, Army (A), Wapda, Port Qasim and Customs defeated their respective rivals. On Friday SSGC defeated Islamabad 4–1, KP (A) defeated AJK 8–2, Punjab (A) defeated KP (B) 2-0, MPCL defeated Punjab (C) 6-1, Army (A) defeated Balochistan 6-0, Wapda defeated Gilgit 17-0, Port Qasim defeated Sindh (A) 10-0 and Customs beat Sindh (B) 6-1.
Results: SSGC beat Islamabad 4– 1. Goal scorers for SSGC were Abdul Manan, Rizwan Ali and M. Mozzam. For Islamabad scorer was Isa Khan.
KP (A) beat AJK 8–2). Goal-scorer s for KP were Amir Farooq, Usman, Jibran and Ahsan for AJK Saad Nasar and Sufiyan were the scorers.
Punjab (A) beat KP (B) 2-0. Scorers for Punjab (A) were: M Usman and Hannan Shahid.
MPCL beat Punjab (C) 6-1. Scorers for MPCL were Arbaz Ahmad, M Anees, Abdul Rehman Waqar Ali and Arbaz. For Punjab (C) Rana Waleed was lone scorer.
Army A trounced Balochistan 6-0. Scorers for Army (A) were Shahid Ali, M Umer, Usman Jaffer and M Usman.
Wapda thrashed Gilgit 17-0; Port Qasim beat Sindh (A) 10-0; Customs beat Sindh (B) 6–1.
