Punjab approves over Rs26b uplift schemes

THE Punjab government Thursday approved over Rs26 billion development schemes of different sectors mainly focusing on infrastructure improvement and development.
Total 27 development schemes were approved in the 6th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of ongoing fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by the Punjab Chairman Planning and Development Board Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
Members of Planning and Development Board, provincial secretary concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to Spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included Sewerage Scheme Rahimyar Khan City with Treatment Plant-construction of intermediate sewage pumping station near Niazi Colony and installation of Force Main, RY Khan at the cost of Rs288.022 million, Internal Merit Scholarships for EE/SE students at the cost of Rs600.000 million, Taleem Sab Kay Liye (TSKL) at the cost of Rs351.524 million, restructuring/revamping and strengthening of Punjab Economic Research Institute at the cost of Rs250.000 million, establishment of Model Cattle Market Sammundri Road, Faisalabad at the cost of Rs320.777 million, establishment of blood centre at Faisalabad with assistance of KFW at the cost of Rs388.789 million, National Blood Transfusion Service Project, Punjab at the cost of Rs276.919 million, optimising watercourse conveyance efficiency through enhancing lining length at the cost of Rs9.316 billion, provision of laser land levellers to the farmers/service providers on subsidised cost at the cost of Rs1.350 billion, lining of watercourses Chak No.469/GB, Sammundri, District Faisalabad at the cost of Rs34.904million, 50 overseas PhD scholarships for University of Agriculture, Faisalabad at the cost of Rs724.031 million, promotion of agriculture mechanisation in Punjab at the cost of Rs1.184 billion, Punjab E-Gateway Project (E-Government Initiatives) (Revised) at the cost of Rs1.5

billion, construction/rehabilitation of road from Haire to Sui-e-Asal, Lahore at the cost of Rs378.152 million, rehabilitation of road from Raiwind to Pattoki, District Kasur at the cost of Rs1.339 billion, construction of flyover at Sublime Chowk on Sialkot-Wazirabad Road, Sialkot. (PC-II) at the cost of Rs13.500 million, dualisation of provincial highway from Arifwala to boundary of Bahawalnagar, in District Pakpattan at the cost of Rs962.986 million, widening/improvement of road from Khushab to Sandral, Rajar Road and Ahmadabad Motorway Interchange, District Khushab at the cost of Rs457.473 million, widening/improvement of road from Faisal Chowk to Darya Khan Road, District Bhakkar at the cost of Rs1.272 billion, rehabilitation/re-construction of road from Faisalabad to Lahore Road along with Canal Bank, District Sargodha at the cost of Rs776.292 million, construction of dual carriageway from Teen Meela to Sanjwal, District Attock at the cost of Rs306.439 million, construction of mettled road from Awan Kot Choubora Road Adda Panwar Wala to Janay Wala via Adda Shumar Wala, Tehsil Choubara, District Layyah at the cost of Rs256.476 million, construction of M/Road from MM Road to Head Mast Ali via 456/TDA, District Layyah at the cost of Rs220.725 million, construction of road from Head Lal to Bangla Yasmeen via Sahran More Chak No. 451/TDA, 449/TDA, 447/TDA Patti Arain, Tehsil Choubara, District Layyah at the cost of Rs337.494 million, widening and improvement (Dualisation) of road from Chak No. 97-M, Chamb More, Chamb Kaliar, Kaliar Chowk, Mughalanwala Chowk Sheikhu Pull to Khanwah Ghalwan, District Lodhran at the cost of Rs328.066 million, dualisation of Shahi Road from Rahimyar Khan to Chowk Bahadarpur (KLP Road), Rahimyar Khan at the cost of Rs2.670 billion and widening & improvement of road from Gojra Khidar Wala Road to Raja Chowk Tehsil Boundary via Chak No. 370 /JB (Ghania), by-pass, Chak No.49/GB (Chowinda) Chak No.178/GB (Gogha) and Chak No.242/GB (Noorpur Basti), Tehsil Gojra, District TT Singh at the cost of Rs225.604 million.
