Parliament will fulfil its responsibility: Asad
By Our correspondent
ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar Thursday said the Parliament will fulfil its responsibility with regard to legislation on appointment of Chief of Army Staff.
“We will examine the detailed judgement of the Supreme Court with regard to appointment and extension in service of Chief of Army Staff and will also contact all the political parties in the light of the judgement,” he said in a brief talk with media persons here after visiting shelter home (Panagah).
Asad Qaisar said once the detailed judgement is available, the government will then engage the political parties and will try to remove legal lacunae through legislation. “We are waiting for the detailed judgement and once it is available then we will act accordingly and the Parliament will fulfil its responsibility,” he said.
