KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airline’s (PIA) first pre-Hajj flight PK-6025 departed from Quetta for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, early Thursday morning, said a statement.
The intending Hajj pilgrims on the flight were seen off by PIA District Manager Balochistan, Abdul Baqi Baloch.
PIA will carry more than 8,100 intending pilgrims from Quetta to Saudi Arabia.
The airline is operating pre-Hajj flights from seven major cities of Pakistan namely, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, and Sialkot.
The national carrier will be transporting more than 55,800 intending Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, of which nearly 43,600 will be carried on 148 pre-Hajj flights, while more than 12,200 intending pilgrims will be carried by the airline’s regular scheduled flights to Saudi Arabia.
