3 ‘terrorists’ held in Layyah

LAHORE: Three suspected terrorists of the proscribed organisation AQIS (Al Qaeda Indian Subcontinent) were arrested and explosives and funds for terrorism financing were recovered during an intelligence-based operation conducted jointly by the CTD Punjab and an intelligence agency in Layyah on Tuesday. The CTD, Dera Ghazi Khan, received information that the three terrorists were present near the Govt Degree College Chobara in the limits of the Police Station Chobara, Layyah. They were planning to target sensitive installations in District Layyah. The CTD Team raided their hideout and arrested M Saleem, M Qasim and Jameelur Rehman. Recoveries from them include explosives, hand grenades, pistols and cash for terrorism financing.
