PESHAWAR: The 10th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training was held at the Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) in Mardan.
Members of the committee, including Members National Assembly Dr Zulfiqar Bhatti, Asyia Naz Tanoli, Phyllis Azeem, Musarrat Rafiq, Shahida Rehmani, Dr Nighat Shakeel Khan, Chaudhry Hamid Hameed and the committee chairman MNA Gulzar Khan attended the meeting.
A press release issued here on Wednesday said that Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ihsan Ali briefed the meeting about the establishment, development and educational activities of the university. He informed the participants of the meeting that AWKU in Mardan had enrolled 8,000 students. The committee members applauded that.
Gulzar Khan said that the committee would forward recommendations for the points raised by the vice-chancellor in connection with the Higher Education Commission funding and development works to the Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal.
