ISLAMABAD: Boxer Mohammad Waseem has returned to the hero’s welcome at Islamabad Airport where Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) officials and good number of boxing fans welcomed him.
Waseem edged out Ganigan Lopez to win the light weight title and improve his ranking on the professional list of his category. PSB officials presented him bouquet on behalf of Minister IPC Dr Fahmida Mirza who was in Karachi Sunday.
Waseem thanked officials and Minister for the welcome. He is expected to meet PSB and Ministry officials within next week. “Thanks to Almighty Allah for helping me win a close fight. I would continue bringing in laurels for the country,” Waseem said.
