HAFIZABAD: A landlord was killed and his friend injured by the firing of three car riders near Bataray village.
Humayun of Bhoon Kalan village and his two friends Muhammad Iqbal and Zakaullah were going to Wazirabad when the unidentified car riders opened fire on their car. As a result, Humayun was killed on the spot while Iqbal was seriously injured. It is learnt that landlord Humayun had enmity with many persons. The injured man was shifted to the DHQ Hospital. Sadr police have started investigation.
OBITUARY: Sarafa Association former president Muhammad Sadiq died after a brief illness here. He was buried at the railway line graveyard.
TAKES CHARGE: Wapda XEN Muhammad Ramzan Alam took the charge of his office here on Tuesday.
Educators unpaid for four months

HAFIZABAD: Newly-recruited educators have not been paid salaries for the last four months.
Talking to newsmen here, Punjab Educators Association district Shabbir Muhammad Gujjar, Ahmad Hussain Chattha, Mian Muhammad Suleman and Syed Irfan Hussain said that the educators had been facing several problems due to non-payment of salaries. They have demanded the Education Department high-ups and the DCO look into the matter and release their salaries forthwith.
