MANSEHRA: A minor girl who had gone missing some four days ago was pulled out of a well alive but she died on way to the hospital on Thursday.
“When we retrieved her from the 80-feet deep well, she was unconscious but alive and died on way to the hospital in Mansehra,” Jan-i-Alam, an investigation officer of Darband Police Station, told reporters. Jannat Bibi was playing outside her residence when she went missing some four days ago.
“Some locals heard the screaming of the girl and informed us. We rushed to the scene and pulled her out of the abandoned well,” said Jan-i-Alam. A large number of people from the nearby villages had assembled there when police rushed to the scene and pulled out her body. The girl was rushed to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead and handed her body over to the bereaved family.
Mohammad Nazakat, the father of Jannat Bibi, told reporters that the girl had gone missing from outside her residence on November 18 and they had approached the police for her search. “We have no enmity with anybody but it seemed that she was kidnapped and thrown into the well,” Nazakat added.
