Islamabad Art Festival 19 and Embassy of Russia bring epic romantic screen adventure ‘The Barber of Siberia’ at Islamabad Club on November 25 at 11:00 a.m.
Filmed in 1998, this has been one the most popular high-budget Russian films of 1998. Love, hatred and rivalry are the main ingredients of this million dollars production. An American woman takes a train journey to Moscow to assist her father who has invented a new machine for cutting down the trees (remember it was early twentieth century). Two men change life of this woman. Rivalry takes over love and one of them must suffer on false charges. Love indeed plays all over here in czarist Russia.
The film comes with handsome production effects carrying crisp cinematography, expensive wardrobe and breathtaking locations, notwithstanding its three-hour duration.
Director: Nikita Mikhalkov
