The rupee on Tuesday closed unchanged at 101.96 against the dollar in the interbank market as persistent dollar buying puts pressure on the local unit, the dealers said.
The rupee recorded a high of 101.99 and the low of 101.94 against the greenback.
Dealers said the exchange rate continued to face pressure due to increased demand for the US currency by importers.
