Allama Iqbal birthday celebrations
Islamabad :Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) is organising 5-day Allama Iqbal birthday celebrations from today (Wednesday) to November 24 for the promotion of National poet of Pakistan and his vision, says a press release.
The Inaugural ceremony will be held today at 3:30 PM in the Faiz Ahmad Faiz Auditorium (Main Hall) of PAL.
Shafqat Mahmood, federal minister for Federal Education and Professional Training & National History and Literary Heritage Division will be the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony.
The presidium of the ceremony is comprising of Prof. Fateh Muhammad Malik (Islamabad), Munib Iqbal (Lahore), Aslam Kamal (Punjab), Yusuf Shahin (Sindh), Yusuf Gichki (Balochistan) and Prof. Gohar Naveed (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa).
These celebrations will continue for five days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The salient features of the celebrations include Iqbal seminar, discussion, Gosha-e-Zikr-e-Iqbal, Allama Iqbal and Pakistani languages, book exhibition, Children’s Iqbal, painting and calligraphy exhibition on Iqbal, lucky book draw, Iqbal & fine arts.
