32 drug-peddlers, two Afghans held in Chitral

CHITRAL: The police arrested 32 drug-peddlers and two Afghan nationals in crackdown launched against the anti-social elements in the district on Sunday, sources said.
The sources said that following the directives by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police, Malakand Range, Azad Khan, District Police Officer (DPO) Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat constituted police teams to launch the crackdown on the anti-social elements in the district.
The police conducted raids on the suspected places and dens of the anti-social elements and arrested 32 drug-peddlers and seized drugs from them.
DPO Abbas Marwat said that during the crackdown the police also arrested two Afghan nationals, Jamaluddin and Lashkar Baig, who were living in the district illegally without carrying valid documents.
“Both of them were booked under Section 14 Foreigners Act and investigation launched against them,” he added.
