An election tribunal on Saturday sought final arguments in alleged rigging case of national assembly’s constituency NA-118, Lahore, won by PML-N’s Riaz Malik. Runner-up candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Hamid Zaman had challenged the election result alleging massive rigging by the returned candidate. A deputy director of Nadra recorded his statement about a forensic report about the constituency’s election record previously submitted by the authority. The officer maintained in his statement that national identity card numbers of over 12,000 voters could not be verified by the authority. He said the 65,793 used counterfoils were also not verified. —Correspondent
