Extortionist booked From Our Correspondent FAISALABAD: Rail Bazaar police on Friday booked an unidentified extortionist. Muhammad Aslam, owner of a currency exchange firm, told the police that the accused called him and threatened him of dire consequences if he does not pay him extortion. POLICE FAIL TO ARREST DACOIT: Police have failed to arrest Sohail Khan who is allegedly involved in two dacoity cases and was got released by six motorcyclists at Gumti Chowk outside Rail Bazaar. The police IO Riaz Ahmad was bringing Sohail Khan in an official vehicle when six armed persons riding on two motorcycles got released Sohail. Special teams have been constituted to arrest the fleeing dacoity accused. COMMITS SUICIDE: A married woman committed suicide at Chak 417/JB on Friday. Aneela Bibi ended her life by self-immolation. The motive behind the incident is said to be a domestic dispute.
10 hotels sealed for selling unhygienic food From Our Correspondent FAISALABAD: Assistant Commissioner Sadar Rafia Haider on Friday raided and sealed 10 hotels on the charge of selling unhygienic food and not possessing pure food license. The AC sealed 10 hotels including Hazara Hotel, Ashraf Hotel, Gulistan Hotel, Farooq Hotel, Fri Chicks, Tabaq Restaurant and Chicks and Chicks. The AC while talking to The News said that the owners of different food outlets in the city were informed in a meeting to improve sanitation conditions and apply for pure food license within 10 days but they did not do so.
