Tax recovery

Improper provisions about property tax for those living in the federal capital are: five percent rebate allowed on payment of current tax up to September 30 while surcharge at 1.5 percent per month will be payable on the outstanding tax after the expiry of the financial year.
It is proposed that this rebate should be withdrawn and the surcharge should be payable after September till the end of financial year. Afterwards the government should adopt tough measures for the recovery of arrears. It is in our interest to adopt a strong policy in matters relating to tax recovery.
