Girls outshine boys in HSSC Abbottabad exams

ABBOTTABAD: Eight of the top 10 positions were bagged by girl students in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examination 2015 conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The overall top position was jointly shared by Aqib Habib of Jinnah Basic School and College Mansehra with Kamran Tariq of Peace Group of Colleges Abbottabad by securing 978 marks. Najma Zeb of Dubai International Public School and College Mansehra got second position by getting 966 marks and Zaineb Ejaz of Bright Vision Model College Haripur stood third with 963 marks.
Total 3475 students had appeared in the examination of whom 20,200 were declared successful with the passing percentage of 58.09. Only 292 students got A plus while 1630 could score in A grade, 3,992 students were placed in B grade, 7,564 in C grade and 6,270 in D Grade.
In Pre-Medical Girls Group, Najma Zeb of Dubai International Public School and College Mansehra got first position by obtaining 966 marks, Zainab Ejaz of Bright Vision Model College Haripur bagged second position by getting 963 marks and Midhat Rashid of Jinnah Jamie College Haripur got third position with 962 marks.
Among the boy students, Abdul Subhan of Jinnah Basic College Mansehra got first position by obtaining 957 marks. The second and third positions were bagged by Saad and Muhammad Huzaifa Aurangzeb Mughal of Abbottabad Public School and College. They secured 950 and 945 marks respectively.
In Pre-Engineering Group, female, Maryam Mubashir of International Public School Havelian got first position with 962 marks, Aiman Khalid of Bright Model College Haripur got second position with 946 marks and Aroosa Riaz of Pakistan International School and College Abbottabad got third position by getting 936 marks.
In male category, Aqib Habib of JBS & C Mansehra and Kamran Tariq of Peace Group of Colleges, Abbottabad, stood first by getting 978 marks. Ahsan Safeer of Peace Group got second position by securing 961 marks and Syed Irtaza Haider Naqvi of Sir Syed Model School Haripur got third position by obtaining 949 marks.
In Computer Science Group, female, Aroosa Khalid of Fatima Tuz Zohra College Mansehra got first position with 936 marks, Nida Waheed of BVMC Haripur got second position with 886 marks and Aqsa Nadeem of PIPS Abbottabad got third position with 881 marks.
