It asked the federal government to ensure bringing the MQM head to Pakistan through the Interpol and initiate treason case against him. The three parties ruling the province and all those in the opposition backed the resolution. The resolution was also signed by Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani, Finance Minister Muzaffar Said, Minister for Public Health Engineering Shah Farman, Law Minister Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, Munawwar Khan of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Syed Jaffar Shah of Awami National Party (ANP) and Arbab Akbar Hayat and Sheraz Khan of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Aneesa Zeb Tahirkheli of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP).
