FAISALABAD: Sadar Assistant Commissioner Rafia Haider on Friday raided and sealed 14 different restaurants, hotels and bakeries on the charges of serving unhygienic food and not having pure food licence.
The AC had raided to check quality of food being served to the masses in the restaurants and hotels. Talking to The News, the AC said that the possession of pure food licence was mandatory for every food outlet under the Pure Food Ordinance 1960 and despite issuing several warnings the owners of these outlets did not follow the instructions. She told that the sealed food outlets included Gourmet Bakers, Ideal Bakers, Fri and Chicks, Fork and Knives Pizza, Khayyam Broast, Al-Maida and Al-Aziz Restaurant. The AC said that the action was taken on the public complaints filed against these outlets. She said that the drive would continue until all the owners comply with basic quality of food and cleanliness standards.
