This refers to the news report, ‘JC rejects all three rigging charges by PTI’ (July 23). Imran Khan wasted a lot of precious time and resources of the nation by holding his sit-ins on the flimsy ground that the 2013 elections were rigged. Being an immature politician he should have realised the difference between cricket and politics.
There is no doubt that Imran is an honest leader. He should now concentrate on his job in the National Assembly and work towards meeting the many challenges the nation is facing today – floods, terrorism, political instability, insurgency, etc. All these need his personal as well as the collective efforts of the nation. Imran should not be disappointed with the JC decision. It happened because he could not produce any substantial evidence in support of his claims. He needs to tame himself, work in harmony with other politicians, use his own mind instead of listening to people around him and think judiciously for the betterment of common people. He should make his presence felt in the National Assembly. If Imran succeeds in fulfilling his promises made to the people he will get the top slot – one day – but certainly not through short cuts. Imran had an asset in the person of Justice Wajihuddin but the judge was sidelined allegedly by people around Imran. Imran should ensure that the next general elections are free, fair and that reforms are adopted and approved by all political parties.
