MULTAN: The Pakistan Peoples Party’s Punjab leadership Thursday announced taking part in the local government polls in Punjab under the party manifesto.
Talking to reporters, South Punjab PPP president Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, South Punjab PPP secretary general Shaukat Basra and South Punjab PPP secretary information Khawaja Rizwan Allam said the PPP would contest the polls keeping in view to win all slots especially in South Punjab.
They said parliamentary boards had been constituted that were headed by PPP district presidents in south Punjab districts. The boards would select suitable candidates for union councils.
They said all boards had been asked to get applications from aspiring candidates.
The PPP has also called an urgent meeting of all district presidents and chairmen of local bodies parliamentary boards on July 29 under Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood.
